Pumpkin Picking

A few weeks ago we went pumpkin picking.  I must confess that I think this years pumpkin festival at Marana's Post Farms is by far the best in Southern Arizona.  I've been to Buckelew and Apple Annie's and price wise they are all the same but Post Farms seems to be more about the kids.  They had a huge jumping pillow.  A large sand hill with lots of tractors and toys  peddle tractors.  A riding tractor train ride and the classic petting zoo.

We met up with my folks and my two sisters and their families for the fun filled morning.

 The jumping pillow

Proof I was there...

 The tractor train

Is just me or do my kids take great close ups?

I think I know what Daddy Bug wants for Christmas!

 Pumpkin Picking time!

I believe we will be back there again next year!

October

Our October started off with a trip down to The Property.  This was Squish's first trip down there.  It's sad to think that that was our first trip down there this year.  Oops.  Time sure does fly by when you are having and raising babies.

The Property is a perfect place for little boys.
It's filled with so many adventures to be had.
Life lessons to be learned.
And CRITTERS!

The Property makes a perfect stage to let your imagination run free

(Bug hopped on this plow and rode his "horse")

The Property is a perfect place for memories to be made.

The Property is a perfect place for "firsts"

Bug has a thing for horses at the moment so I wanted him to get face to face with some to see if this is something we should pursue for him.

The Property is a perfect place to see wildlife.

The Property is a perfect place for me to explore with my camera.

The Property is the perfect for place for dogs to be in their natural element.

The Property is a perfect place to come and relax at.

The Property is just all around.... A Perfect Place!

Here's to one day hoping we have our own piece of Property to create many memories at.

The ol' Hubsters told me the other night that he didn't like my new project because it's taking my time away from the blog.

Then today I had (another) conversation with the boss that now makes me one conversation away from being laid off.

So I thought "Hey, now I have more free time to work on my new project AND work on the blog."

Do you want to see a sampling of my new project?....

It's a photo album!

Digital cameras are AWESOME!  You can take hundreds and hundreds of photos a month, download them onto your computer, look them over and maybe even show them off to someone once or twice and then that's it.

The photos of our precious children are just stored.  That's it.  Nothing more.  Just stored.

I grew up in a household with several photo albums and I bet they were gone through at least once year.  My grandparents had photo albums, too.  I loved to look at the pictures of them as youngsters and to see what life looked like back then.

I dabbled in scrapbooking but it was too expensive to keep up with and I don't have much of an imagination to pull off the really cool pages.

The standard albums I grew up with don't exist much.  You know the kind that is roughly 8.5 x 11 and you peel back the clear shiny plastic and stick your photo down.  It seems all there is anymore is the pages with a standard sized slot for two pictures, typically 4x6, and that's it.  They are so BORING!

In surfing the web and with blog hopping I decided to make my own digital scrapbook.

I am using Microsoft Power Point and few websites for free downloads...
HERE and HERE

I plan on making a book a year and once all my pages are complete I'll upload them in Costco's website and have a 12 x 12 photo book made.

I am so excited.  I can't wait to finish this years and then hopefully start on one for 2009 and 2010.
