Fun with Aunt Joy

I had Aunt Joy come over and take some pictures of LB to mark his first full year of life. With help from Grammy we were able to pull off some really great photos! Enjoy!

P.S. Thank you Aunt Joy and Grammy!

Guess who's 1!!

Our little Love Bug is now 1. I can't believe how quickly a WHOLE year flew by!! I spent all of February 5th remembering what a fantastic "labor" day I had and how that whole 26 hours and 16 minutes forever changed our lives for the BEST!

LB had a great birthday surrounded by a whole lot of family and friends. We had a BBQ at 11 am where we served hot dogs and hamburgers. I spent the two days leading up to LB's birthday baking and decorating an angel food cake, chocolate pound cake cupcakes and then a sour cream pound cake in the form of a tractor.

I owe a HUGE thanks to Grammy for watching LB on Thursday while I baked the cakes and Grandma for watching LB on Friday so I could decorate the cakes. Also, two more thank you's to Aunt Kissy and Aunt Michelle for their help Saturday morning!

An early treat---LB's first egg beater coated with fresh whipped cream!
My very first homemade-hand decorated cake!

AND NOW...Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear LB. Happy Birthday to you!

Yes, folks....LB worked his way through the cake one finger swipe and lick at a time. Clearly, he hasn't picked up on how quickly we eat here in our household.

PRESENT TIME! LB trying out his first pair of squeaky shoes

Happy Birthday LB. I love you so much! XOXO-SL

Career Day

Wow...not only in looking at the date in which I did my last blog update but also in looking at the photos I just downloaded off the camera I realize I am VERY, VERY behind in updates!

LB has been having a very difficult time cutting some teeth so he's been pretty needy over the last week or so. He's taking a much needed nap at the moment so I figured I would take this time to update things.
So....which parent has not thought about their child's future from the moment they know they are expecting? I have done this myself many of times and I will probably do so until the day I kick the bucket.
Here are a few photos I captured over the past few weeks that might hold a glimpse into my son's future.
Gangsta
Daddy and I plan on homeschooling our little bundle of love but if we didn't the high school in which he would go to for our neighborhood would surely make him a gangsta!

Brad Pitt

Maybe he'll grow up and met a beautiful woman and adopt a bunch of gorgeous babies from various countries. On their down time from adopting they can have their own babies!

When all else fails he can stay as my little baby boy forever and kill everyone with his puppy love!

Okay! Okay! It's kinda corny but none-the-less ADORABLE!

Short and Sweet!

So the other night Daddy, LB and I are all gathered around the table eating a very delicious dinner when out of the blue LB puts both hands up to the sides of his face, rolls his head around and starts screaming. Don't worry it was a cute, playful type of scream.
He is almost acting like I have finally managed to drive him crazy. Which personally, I am surprised it took almost a year to break him down!
I slowly get up and grab the camera as best as I could without LB getting worried that I might not come back and then he would stop with the crazy, head rocking screaming.
What do I do once the filming begins???? I quickly through Grammy under the bus and blame her for my son's craziness!
Unfortunately, as much I tried to bribe my son to get him to perform on command he would not put his hands back up to his face. So....you are left with 99.9% cutness instead of the full 100%!
Enjoy!

Christmas Part 3

Tonight, like many nights, I have a 100 things to do and not enough time to do them all. In my mad dash to get as much stuff done as possible I figured I would stop here first and update the blog with the last Christmas....
Our final day of celebrating started around 8 or so in the morning. Love Bug (LB) was pretty tuckered out from Christmas Eve and because Christmas day was going to be even longer of a day he needed to stockpile some energy in his reserves.
Once LB woke up I made Daddy keep him entertained in his room until I could put the finishing touches on the gifts and prepare the video camera. Of course with LB being so young his first Christmas was really for Daddy and I.

Christmas Eve we left a cookie and milk out along with a letter to Santa.
(We have to start things off right with him!)

By Christmas morning it looked like we either had a visitor or a really naughty dog. Here is what greeted Love Bug when he awoke.
Daddy & Love Bug working on the first gift.
Apparently at some point we became too slow for Love Bug so he took matters into his own hands. After all the gift opening this is what was left of the living room

After we cleaned things up here we headed down to Grandma and Grandpa's house for breakfast and some additional gift opening.

The during process....
LB's first wagon ride in his monster wagon from Grandma and Grandpa.LB enjoying the taste of Uncle Jason's and Aunt Joy's gift. And lastly....all of the loot lined up.We had a really great day and sadly it came to an end. LB's very first Christmas is behind us and although we will have many, many more ahead of us it's still sad because it's another reminder of just how much our little baby is growing up.

Christmas Part 2

I'm back again. The dust has settled from Christmas and now we are prepping for New Year's Day Dinner.

The 2nd Christmas occurs on Christmas Eve when Daddy's aunts, uncles and cousins all convene at Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner and the exchanging of gifts. This tradition always took place at Great Grandma's house but since her passing Grandma and Grandpa have opened their home to keep the fun and good times going.

And in the end....the ribbon is the best toy! From Aunt Nancy he received his first pair of Organic potty training pants and a Organic T-Shirt ~Thank you Aunt Nancy!~
The second gift came from Uncle Steve and Aunt Lana.
Looks like someone has this gift opening thing figured out.

Daddy stepped in to assist

Dad's thought--"Great another toy that makes noise!"

~Thank you Uncle Steve and Aunt Lana~

And here is Miss Adie dressed in her princess dress from Aunt Nancy and her scarf and knit hat from Uncle Steve and Aunt Lana. Brings a tear to my eye to see her fashionista ways already coming out.

Stay tuned for the Christmas #3 on Christmas Day!
